Random Post last week..

24-Aug-2010 (Friday)

Met up with my bestie Carol at Raffles Place. After that headed Marina Square for Dinner.! Treat on her because she found a new job.. Congra!! The job is kind of what she want i guess. :) feel happy for her too.
Finally decided to dine at Azabo shabo. Bill is only $33.90 because we had 1 bowl of ramen, 1 jap pizza, bbq wild mushroom and a chicken salad, shared between the 2 of us.. 那是因为我佛慈悲,高抬贵手,才放了她一码。。LOL!!

After dinner, window-shop shortly and we went off for Starbucks. She had chocolate cream while i had mango-passion(No coffee for me cause it's late and i fear unable to sleep later on)Anyway, we are so pleased to be seating at the "VIP" seats. Long black leather sofa with a long table. Continue feeling contented until 2 guys interrupted us to take the chairs beside us..

Of course, my reply will be "help yourself, you can take the side tables too" But the kind-hearted Carol you know... was so kind that she wanted to gave up our seats for them..

My first thinking was definately "WTF, we found the seats first lor.. so what they have more people, no such rules right.. " but after looking at carol's naive face, 算了!you all can have the seats cause we are leaving. Well, that's occasionally how kindly jessica will behave too. Don't be too surprise. LOL!

No other places to go... so carol suggest to go 爱情海<<民歌餐厅>> 参观一下。
It costed $14.90 - entrance and a free drink of your choice. From 9-11pm..

Singers of the day includes FM 933 DJ 伟彬。。

Happened to walk past "Ameba" when window-shopping at Parkway Parade last week.
This shop was super alike with what i've did for my part-time@ Anthropology ages ago.

Saw their job-ads in the shop and decided to give it a try, earn some small allowance.
At last, they replied but at Takasimaya Shopping Mall (Sadden by half)

By the way, did some internet searching on information about Anthro.
Was so surprised that they had closed down last March. Oops!!

On the phone this morning with Eve (My Ex-colleuge).
We talked about anything under the sun.
braces, bridal photography package, ideal enagement ring, and etc,
Guess what she booked appointment with Doc Cheng too, with my recommendation.
Indeed, she brighten up my day :) Chit-chating all the way till 10.30a.m.

After that, went on browsing for my "ideal proposal ring".
Found sort of my like?

I'm sure he is going to vomit blood when he see the price.
$55,000 USD.. maybe i will get it when he becomes a millionare?

Am heading back to Parkway this evening for the idiotic "Giant cookware redemption"

Guess what! I've been hitting there constantly for 3 weekends, but they still don't have stock!!
GIANT was such a huge supermart yet they failed to ensure sufficient redemption stocks.
Wasted my trips. Tomorrow will be the last day for redemption, i will see how they will answer for it if there's still no Cookware for redemption. *grin

Blog resumed 3 months before 1 year of total neglection.

This is my first entry in 2010.

And its the start of the oatmeal dieting plan (the deal between the two of us).

The challenge of 30 days Quaker Oatmeal diet plan includes regulation to endure lunch and dinner with only Oatmeal for 30 days, that somebody will annouce "defeat" with my request of 战利品.

I shall keep that request as a mystery first until i really hit that target.
What really startled us with the challenge?

Well, if you are close friends of mine, you should know by now that me and boyfriend had already signed a package with 坎城婚纱摄影. Intended to take the photoshoot 2011 November.

How can i possibly wear the bridal gown with that extra bouncy fats on my body, and bring ugliness to that 神圣白沙呢?
No way to it. Maybe others can tolerate that.. but that person is definately not me!!

I regards marriage as the very important stage of my life and i want everything on that day to be perfect. Even if there's only 1 invited guest that turns up for my wedding dinner. I wanted myself to appeared beautifully, at least in me and my husband eyes. Flawless~

YA, and this little wish of mine is toturing me now because of that ugly stetch marks haunting me for the past 10 years.

He had beening encouraging me though, that with excercising the toning part of muscles will disappear as i slimmed. 我就拭目以待吧!
哟哟,跟着节奏跳。。哈哈!

Meanwhile, i am super looking forward to his proposal.
Had given him a 难题 on the proposal ring after reading the below artical

"5 Reasons to Skip the Diamond Engagement Ring".
By Wise Bread
Posted: August 10, 2010

You’re ready. You have the entire scene planned out in your head, every detail plotted and mapped until it’s perfect. At the climax of this mini-drama, he will bend on one knee and present to you a beautiful diamond ring — or, if you’re the one proposing, you will watch as her expression changes from surprise to utter delight when she sees the ring. And that’s when you’ll know: Yes, you’re getting married.

Or so the diamond industry would like you to believe. The sole purpose of this appealing fantasy is to drum up sales. Once you look past the mythos of the diamond engagement ring, you’ll see that it’s not much more than a shiny rock.

Here are five good reasons to skip the diamond engagement ring.

1. It isn’t an ancient tradition — just marketing. For all intents and purposes, “A Diamond is Forever” and the idea of a diamond engagement ring is Sprite’s “Obey Your Thirst” and Nike’s “Just Do It.” It is Gary Dahl’s “Pet Rock.” De Beers controlled supply by buying up and closing down any diamond mine discovered, and they controlled demand by making it sentimental. Although the campaign is less than 70 years old, it has made the diamond engagement ring the ultimate symbol of how much the relationship, the girl, and love itself is worth.

MY COMMENT:
De Beers is clever in marketing is'nt it? All woman including me are all fooled by the so-called myths of diamond, "diamonds are women forever friends, and blah blah" These are all their gimmicks!! 真可希那些误以为真的女人背后男人的钱,买来的货根本不值钱。Well, definately there will be people who rather be decieved by the "Myth". 你有办法吗?随他们去吧。:)
I buy what i like, 你管得着吗?钱钱钱,老子有钱!!

2. Diamonds are rare! Or not. It’s true, diamonds are abundant. For generations, De Beers had stockpiled most of the world’s diamond supply and effectively monopolized the industry. Their dominance has weakened over the last decade, but De Beers and its competitors still control the supply of diamonds entering the market. While most gems are valued based on their rarity, diamonds are different. Their scarcity is artificial — and so is their value.

MY COMMENT:
Would you buy diamond after you read this?
As for me, i still don't mind 碎钻石to go along with my 18k/14k gold plus gemstone, cause i feel that it can enhance the beauty of it.
But for huge carat, count me out. I will skin him alive if he brought me that.

3. Other options look just as impressive and cost much less. Moissanite looks just like a diamond; the difference is undetectable with the naked eye. In fact, moissanite is actually more brilliant. If, for whatever reason, you’re stuck on the diamond ring idea, synthetic or “cultured” diamonds are the real deal. They’re made in a machine that replicates the environmental forces that make diamonds. They’re real diamonds, only with less flaws. A synthetic 2-carat pink diamond costs just a few thousand dollars, and a 1-carat moissanite ring is under $1000.

MY COMMENT:
No comment on this, don't know how to appreciate it with or without flaw under the scope.
Just buy me the cut, the color/shape of gems, and the design that i like. i'm more that contented to wear it with proud.

4. You can invest in something more meaningful/useful/fun than a piece of jewelry. Many women simply enjoy having a beautiful collection — and that’s fine (if you can afford it). For most people, though, a diamond engagement ring is fun to show off for about 30 seconds. But it’s special, right? Because it marks your engagement and symbolizes your love? Remember, that’s De Beers’s marketing campaign talking. Three-plus months’ salary would be better spent on furnishing your home, an amazing trip, or your future kids’ college funds!

MY COMMENT:
This is the main reason that inspire me to give up diamond and to go for Gemstone.
80% of the diamond proposal ring looks the same to me. The shineness of diamond attracts me only last less than 30 seconds. After that, i had no feelings for it.
所为新加坡人“怕输”,“爱面子”。 I want to owe things that people have (人家有我也要拥有), should be included into the theory "Why want diamonds". I am going to choose 18k or 14k gold to go along with my gemstone or White gold? Goes well with some gems but Yellow gold is more worth the money $_$ money-face!! LOL.. Still in search which to choose.

5. It’s hard to get around the ethical issues surrounding the diamond industry. Terrorist groups use conflict/blood diamonds to finance their activities. Rebel groups use them to fuel conflict and civil wars. In these conflict zones, children are being used as soldiers. The Kimberley Process is an agreement that was established to prevent conflict diamonds from getting into the market, but the self-policing system is far from perfect. One way to fool the Kimberley Process is to smuggle and mix conflict diamonds with legally traded ones before being certified — and you, the buyer, would be none the wiser.

MY COMMENT:
Are you having the conflict diamonds. God knows! Unless you witness that.. Whatever.

Anyway, had been sourcing for that 'ideal' kind of gemstone ring i want.

I found this Pink Sapphire awesome, but it's white gold, oh dear.. *Confuse*
